Pinball Hall of Fame a flippin’ good time

Last week I visited the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
As readers of Tech-media-tainment know, I’m an aficionado of halls of fame of all stripes. Last year, I visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Robot Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh.
The Pinball Hall of Fame isn’t a true hall of fame, but it does feature a ton of vintage pinball machines as well as some classic arcade video games.
I had a blast playing such old time pinball machines like Domino (Gottlieb, 1968), Night Rider (Bally, 1977) and Pinball (Stern, 1977).
It also was fun to revisit some of my favorite arcade games from the 1980s, including Robotron (1982), Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator (1983) and Q*bert (1983).
The Pinball Hall of Fame is a project of the Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club to house and display the world’s largest pinball collection. The games belong to club member, Tim Arnold.
The Pinball Hall of Fame is located at 1610 E. Tropicana Ave., Paradise, Nev., a few blocks from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and 2.4 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. It’s due east of the MGM Grand.
The game machines range from the 1950s up to the 1990s. Most of the pinball machines are from the 1960s,’70s and ’80s.
All told, the establishment features more than 200 pinball machines and arcade games.
