Notable new magazines in 2019: Bumble Mag, Netflix Queue, Staples Worklife

The big trend in new magazines in 2019 was companies extending their brands using print publications.
Dating app maker Bumble launched Bumble Mag in April. (See articles by TechCrunch and Marie Claire.)
Also in April, office supply retailer Staples debuted a quarterly print magazine for working professionals called Staples Worklife. (See Staples press release and article by Marketing Dive.)
Internet television network Netflix launched a magazine called Queue to promote its series and movies for awards like the Emmys and Oscars. (See articles by Bloomberg, the Hollywood Reporter and MediaPost.)
In September, outdoor recreation retailer REI replaced its catalog with a quarterly print magazine called Uncommon Path. (See articles by AdAge and Poynter.)
Casual wear maker Uniqlo started a print magazine called LifeWear magazine this year. (See article by WWD.)
The new magazines from Bubble, Netflix, REI, Staples and Uniqlo join recent print publications from Airbnb, Facebook, Uber and others.
