Porn movies ‘ripped from the headlines’

Many fictional television shows will feature storylines that are “ripped from the headlines” to be topical. The adult video industry is no different.
To spice up their productions, they’ll glom onto newsworthy subjects, social movements and current events.
One way they do that is with porn parodies of politicians, celebrities and public figures. I’ve already covered that topic.
Another way is to play off the names and slogans of protests, military operations and other real-life subjects.
For instance, the Black Lives Matter social movement that started in 2013, inspired the titles of at least eight porn movies.
Other subjects for porn titles included the Occupy Wall Street protests, Islamic terrorists and military operations such as Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

TSA porn parodies were a short-lived trend

With news this week that the Transportation Security Administration will allow passengers to keep their shoes on during airport screenings, the TSA became a little less onerous.
After the agency was created in 2001, it was the subject of derision and ridicule. Even the adult video industry took part in mocking the agency, which had been accused of groping travelers and invading their privacy.
From 2011 through 2018, the TSA was the subject of at least six porn parodies.

‘Fallout’ video games, TV show are popular subjects for porn parodies

The “Fallout” video game series and television show on Amazon Prime Video have inspired at least five porn parodies to date.
Some are full-fledged porn movies while others are cosplay porn videos.
But they aren’t the only post-apocalyptic entertainment franchises that have received the porn parody treatment.
The “Resident Evil” video game series and movies have been the subject of at least four porn parodies.
“The Last of Us” games and TV show have been mocked in two porn parodies.
And even the Japanese manga series “Attack on Titan” and its anime adaptation has been lampooned in a porn parody in 2024. (“Attack on Titan - Mikasa Ackerman and Historia Reiss - A Porn Parody.”)

Porn parodies of public figures, a review of X-rated portrayals

The adult film industry has a history of poking fun at politicians, celebrities and other public figures in porn parodies. It is a peculiar way of humiliating a subject by literally stripping them of their modesty.
I recently set up a pair of websites on Google’s Blogger platform to list as many porn parodies of public figures as I could find. The first website, Porn Parodies Of Public Figures, is devoted to modern public figures, essentially those in the post-World War II era. The other, Porn Movies Based On Historical Figures, is for historical figures from ancient times up through WWII.
These websites feature censored photos of promotional artwork, such as physical media cover art. They are behind an age-restriction warning because of their subject matter.
I created the two websites to salvage a collection of images I had gathered and posted on Flickr. Flickr suspended my account in April, saying it violated the terms of its free photo-hosting service.
My interest in porn parodies of public figures stems from my support of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and curiosity over all that it covers. Freedom of speech and expression extends to parody and even sexual content.
But the golden age of porn parodies is over. It ended with the decline of physical media, such as DVDs and Blu-ray Discs.
Adult entertainment companies don’t seem interested in full-length features amid the rise of OnlyFans and other sites. Now anyone with a smartphone can film and distribute porn. And consumers of these videos don’t seem to mind the lack of narratives and acting (beyond faking gratification perhaps).
The closest the industry gets to parody now are cosplay videos, often for VR headsets. Porn actresses will dress up as characters from comic books, anime and other popular fiction. Rarely do they portray real people, except the occasional historical figure like Cleopatra or Pocahontas.
I suspect another issue could be AI deepfakes. With artificial intelligence, porn lovers can virtually put any celebrity or public figure into a sex video.
As of this posting, the most popular subject for porn parodies among modern public figures is President Donald Trump, who has been parodied since his days as host of NBC’s “The Apprentice.” He has been featured in 25 porn parodies to date.

Flickr shuts down my photo curation website

My offbeat journalistic exercise of reporting on public figures parodied by the adult video industry has run afoul of Flickr’s policies. They’ve suspended my account and blocked everyone except for me from seeing it.
My site documented all the times that porn studios have mocked politicians and celebrities in X-rated movies. It included promotional art and photos from those videos, which I censored when necessary.
But that wasn’t enough for Flickr. In fact, it was all just a money grab. I could keep doing what I was doing as long as I upgraded from a free to a paid account. But I already have a paid Flickr account for family and personal photos and I didn’t want a second one for this side endeavor.
Now, anyone looking to see how many times Donald Trump or Barack Obama has been parodied by the porn industry will get a 404 error page. More dead weblinks in an internet awash in them.
I have downloaded the photos from the “offending” Flickr page and have started uploading them to a new blog on Google’s Blogger service. (See Porn Parodies Of Public Figures.)

Why no porn parodies of the 2024 presidential election?

The adult entertainment industry used to like to parody political figures with X-rated videos. But porn producers seem to have lost their nerve to mock powerful figures.
There have been no political porn parodies this election season, even going back to the primaries.
Four years ago, there was just one political porn parody and it mocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
But there was a plethora of porn parodies during the 2016 race, lampooning both major party candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
But this election cycle, the adult entertainment industry has not touched the presidential race with its content.
I asked Brian S. Gross of BSG Public Relations in Woodland Hills, Calif., why this might be. His clients include companies in the adult entertainment business.
“All I can do is speculate,” he said. “The industry is in a completely different place post-pandemic. The business has changed, and the industry produces a far less amount of parodies than it used to. There was little to no desire to create parodies around this election is another possible reason.”
Or maybe all that content produced for the 2016 election was not very popular with viewers.
Another reason could be possible negative consequences for the adult entertainment industry and/or sex workers if either Trump or Kamala Harris is elected.
Trump is believed to be aligned with the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025. And Harris is anti-sex work.

Porn show overlaps with CES 2023

For the first time since 2011, the CES technology trade show ran simultaneously with the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas this year.
The two shows used to share the Sands Convention Center. Back then, it was a common sight for CES attendees to see scantily clad women parading through the corridors on their way to the AVN show. The 2023 AVN show ran Jan. 4-7 at Resorts World Las Vegas.
The adult entertainment industry has been an early adopter and market maker for many consumer technologies, including home video, the commercial internet, and online payments. Today, porn is driving big sales for virtual reality headsets, according to Juniper Research.
I visited the AVN show on Friday evening Jan. 6 after working the CES conference to see if there was an interesting tech angle. I was thinking perhaps high-resolution VR or 8K video.
Unfortunately, this year’s AVN Show was more of a fan fest than a business conference. Dozens of adult actresses and actors met with fans and signed sexy portraits at booths that filled several conference halls. Many of the actresses were behind ring lights livestreaming their appearances at the show from platforms such as MyFreeCams. No nudity or explicit content was permitted at the show.
Brazzers announced a planned adult metaverse, called Joi.City, but that was about it for a new tech angle.
Maybe the tech and business angles have moved to the rival Xbiz Show, held Jan. 9-12 in Los Angeles.

Metaverse: Is there a porn app for that?

Whenever a new technology emerges, someone always comes up with a sex application for it.
From video cassette recorders to the internet, the adult entertainment industry has quickly found porn and sex applications for new technologies. More recently, that has included virtual reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, and cryptocurrency.
Lately the biggest buzzword in the technology industry has been the metaverse, with its promise of immersive virtual worlds. Companies like Meta Platforms, formerly Facebook, and Microsoft are pouring billions into developing the metaverse.
Adult entertainment companies are already touting their plays on the emerging metaverse.
Several companies are selling digital porn as NFTs (non-fungible tokens). The NFTs are collectibles now but could be integrated into the metaverse at some point.
On Nov. 8, Pokmi announced a “unique 3D Metaverse” NFT, minted in the likeness of brand ambassador Maitland Ward.
The new NFT will not be playable in-game or in the metaverse, but it points to the direction the industry is heading. (See article by Xbiz.)

The most popular fairytale characters in porn movies

Several years ago, during my research into adaptations of public domain works, I investigated which fairytale characters were depicted the most in porn movies. It’s time to reexamine the subject.
For this article, I used the Internet Adult Film Database and news sites AVN and Xbiz.
When I did my first article on the subject in 2014, porn parodies of fairytales were moving from full-length adult films to shorter productions for online sites. The latest trend is virtual reality porn films, some of which feature fairytale cosplay.
So which fairytale character is No. 1 for depictions in porn movies?
Little Red Riding Hood is the most popular fairytale character. She shows up in at least 23 adult movies and videos.
Cinderella comes in second with 12 porn movies, followed by Alice in Wonderland and Aladdin (The Arabian Nights), each with 11.
Snow White has been the subject of eight porn parodies. Beauty and the Beast got the porn treatment five times. And Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and the Wizard of Oz tied with four porn flicks each.

Why are there no porn parodies yet of President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris?

The pornography industry loves to parody politicians in its X-rated movies.
For instance, as a political candidate and U.S. president, Donald Trump, was the subject of at least 14 porn parodies. His wife, First Lady Melania, and daughter/political adviser, Ivanka, also were mocked in porn parodies.
President Barrack Obama was the subject of seven porn parodies. The adult film industry also has mocked George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and more.
Political satires and parodies, even X-rated ones, are protected under the free speech provisions of the First Amendment.
But so far, Trump’s successor, President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris have yet to be lampooned in porn movies.
It’s not for a lack of material. You have “creepy Joe” who’s been known to grope women. Now he’s handing out “stimulus” checks willy-nilly to spur the economy. Then there’s Kamala Harris with her naked political ambitions.
The adult film industry recently discussed the lack of Biden or Harris porn parodies on Xbiz.net.
Some suggested that the industry fears the Biden administration. For instance, adult film actress Cherie DeVille wrote an article for the Daily Beast noting how Harris is anti-sex work. And Harris could be president someday soon.
Others said the left-leaning porn industry is a fan of Biden and doesn’t want to mock him.
At least one person noted that Biden has only been in office three months and production in the porn industry has been choked by the Covid-19 pandemic. In other words, such parodies likely will happen eventually.
Some industry players suggested porn actors who could play Biden, Harris and other characters.
They picked Misty Stone for Kamala Harris, one-time Trump mistress Stormy Daniels as First Lady Jill Biden and one of the geriatric porn actors from the Blue Pill Men as Joe Biden.

2020 presidential race gets its first porn parody

Every four years, the adult entertainment industry lampoons the U.S. presidential election with porn parodies of the key figures. The 2020 race now has its first porn parody with “Scorin’ with Warren,” which depicts a raunchy Elizabeth Warren on the campaign trail during her ultimately failed bid for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president.
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden reportedly is considering Warren, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, for the vice president job. She also would be a contender for a possible cabinet post if Biden is elected.
In “Scorin’ With Warren,” Jamie Foster plays Elizabeth Warren as she uses her feminine wiles to attract swing voters. In one scene, she gets dirty with Republican conservative and current Vice President Mike Pence, played by Jay Crew, according to a description of the movie. The “I’ve got a plan for that” policy wonk also gets down with Monica Lewinsky, a campaign manager and a black voter.
“I voted for Liz and am really sorry she’s too smart for America,” Foster said via email. “I am a stand-up comic as well and a lot of fans really like the impression. I do look like her.”
She added, “It was fun and I hope to do more Liz and see more of her, like on Biden’s ticket would be nice.”
No signs of a Biden porn parody yet, despite his creepy, handsy reputation with the ladies.
Also, there haven’t been any new Donald Trump porn parodies lately. They fell off after his election to president in 2016. The boorish Lothario has been featured in 19 porn parodies, including two from his “Celebrity Apprentice” reality-TV show days. Only actor Charlie Sheen has more porn parodies, with 20.

Autonomous vehicles as mobile brothels

Name a new technology and someone has probably come up with a sex application for it.
This year, I’ve written about sex or porn applications for artificial intelligence, augmented reality, blockchain and robotics.
What about autonomous vehicles?
Yes, people are already thinking of sex applications for the emerging technology.
A new study by the journal Annals of Tourism Research said the rise of self-driving cars will give people another place to have sex, possibly for money.
Some media reports suggested “mobile brothels” and “prostitution on wheels” could be on the way.
I’m skeptical.

Artificial intelligence in sex technology

If there’s a new technology, someone is going to figure out a sex app for it. I’ve written a couple of times about entrepreneurs coming up with porn or sex applications for the latest technologies.
Lately I’ve seen stories about businesses touting AI in their sex gadgets.
A sex toy company called Very Intelligent Ecommerce Inc. has developed an oral sex simulator for men that it says uses AI technology.
The product, Autoblow A.I., provides 16 different oral sex experiences using artificial intelligence, the company’s Indegogo page says. (See articles by the Sun and AVN.)
Meanwhile, a Barcelona-based engineer has created a smart sex doll called Samantha. The doll has the power to say “no” to a man’s sexual advances. Samantha also requires some foreplay to get her “in the mood.” (See articles by Geek.com and Metro.)
Some scientists are concerned about possible negative consequences of developing sex robots. They worry about the impact they’ll have on human sexual relations. (See article by the Sydney Morning Herald.)

Post-apocalyptic scenarios explored in X-rated movies

Movies, TV shows, video games and other media like to explore post-apocalyptic worlds for interesting stories. The same goes for porn movies.
This year, there have been at least five post-apocalyptic porn movies released. They include “Don’t Panic!” from Pure Taboo and “Wastelands” from Girlsway.
A search of online resources such as the Internet Adult Film Database uncovers at least 17 porn movies set after apocalyptic events. Most take place in a desert landscape like that of the “Mad Max” films. (By the way, I haven’t seen any of these movies, I’m just going by the descriptions and cover art.)

Whenever a new technology emerges, someone is bound to think of something sexual to do with it.
From video cassette recorders to the internet and beyond, the adult entertainment industry has quickly found porn applications for new technologies.
Most recently porn websites have been letting users pay with cryptocurrencies for increased privacy. There’s even a cryptocurrency called WankCoin.
Porn is turning out to be a killer app for the fledgling virtual reality headset business, according to media reports. (See “The First Real Boom in Virtual Reality? It’s Pornography” by the Wall Street Journal and “Oculus Go Porn: Adult Industry Has High Hopes for Facebook’s New VR Headset” by Variety.)
How about augmented reality?
Augmented reality pioneers ARPorn.com recently teamed up with virtual reality porn studio BaDoinkVR to create an AR demo clip featuring porn star Susy Gala that showcases some of the capabilities of the technology to date. Augmented reality superimposes digital imagery into what a person sees in the real world.
The demo features a real 3D person, not a computer-generated likeness, something that has not been done before.

Stormy Daniels’ tryst with Donald Trump spawns opportunistic porn movies

President Donald Trump is approaching an interesting milestone. The real-estate-mogul-turned-reality-TV-star-turned-politician has been parodied or exploited in 18 porn movies. Among public figures, he ranks second to actor Charlie Sheen in porn parodies and X-rated films featuring real-life lovers. Sheen is No. 1 with 20 movies inspired by his shenanigans.
Trump was parodied twice in porn movies based on his TV series “The Celebrity Apprentice.” As a presidential candidate, he inspired 12 porn movies. And as the 45th president of the United States, he has been lampooned in two porn movies to date.
His liaison with porn star Stormy Daniels has spawned two compilation videos featuring the adult film actress. “Stormy Trumps All” was released on Feb. 14 and “Stormy Daniels’ Cum Before the Storm” comes out on May 11.
If the Stormy Daniels’ story has legs, there may well be more Trump-themed porn videos ahead. And Trump could eventually overtake Sheen for the top spot for real-life inspirations for porn movies.

Snubbed by magazines, Melania Trump is embraced by pornographers

A recent report by Inside Edition questioned why First Lady Melania Trump has not been featured on the cover of any major women’s magazines.
“She has been first lady for more than a year. In past administrations, the first lady would have already been splashed all over the national publications,” Inside Edition staff wrote.
Possible explanations include her husband’s divisive politics and her desire for privacy, the report said.
While Melania hasn’t been on the cover of any major women’s magazines since moving to the White House, she has already been depicted in eight porn movies, most recently by adult actress Catalina Cruz in “Melania’s Revenge.”
In the fictional world of porn parodies, Melania has had dalliances with secret service agents, Russian President Vladimir Putin and former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, in addition to her husband President Donald Trump.

Fake Old West photos, fake teachers and other lying clickbait

Just because a photo is sepia-toned doesn’t mean it’s old. Clickbait purveyors often try to pass off modern photos as old by making them look antique.
A recent Taboola article titled “Wild West photos showing what life was really like” used a sepia-toned still from the 2010 movie “Jonah Hex,” starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox. If only all the women in the Old West were as hot as Fox.

Other fake Wild West photos I’ve seen used to promote supposedly historical images were from cosplay sessions, the 1966 movie “The Professionals,” the Canadian TV series “Strange Empire” and the Spanish TV series “Tierra de Lobos.”
Another article, promoted by Outbrain, titled “Actual Wild West photos you can’t unsee” used a modern photo done in an old-timey style by Russian photographer Dmitry Rubinshteyn.

Another clickbait article titled “She had no idea why her students were staring” used a still photo from a Naughty America porn movie starring Sophia Lomeli.
Last year, I noted a clickbait article titled “What you thought teachers do during class is true.” That article used another Naughty America porn photo.

Finally, a Taboola article titled “Trophy wives of older billionaires” featured a picture of a man who might be just a millionaire and a woman who is not his wife.
The man is flamboyant NBA superfan Jimmy Goldstein. (See article by SportsNet and Wikipedia entry.) The woman, Danish supermodel Amalie Wichmann, was likely just his date for a game.
