Magazines that printed their final issues in 2020
A bunch of prominent magazines ended their print runs in 2020.
Playboy magazine ended its 66-year run with its spring 2020 issue released in March. The new owners of the men’s magazine shifted to a “digital-first publishing schedule.” However, Playboy plans to produce occasional special issues in print. Surfer magazine shut down after a 60-year run with its winter 2020 issue in October. It was one of several action sports magazines closed by its new owner, American Media. Skiing magazine Powder closed in October after 48 years. (See articles by Backcountry and Gear Junkie.)
Muscle & Fitness magazine ended its print edition in February after 40 years. (See articles by Fitness Volt and New York Post.)
O, The Oprah Magazine published its last monthly issue in December after 20 years. (See articles by GMA, PBS and New York Post.)
