Goofy Christmas songs: A holiday staple

Along with traditional Christmas music, the season typically brings a lot of novelty and parody songs.
2014 was no exception.
Here are a few examples.

Chicago Bears fan Phil Guay vented his anger toward the blundering football team in a music video called “A Very Angry Bears Fan Christmas.” (See article on the Huffington Post.)

Las Vegas rock band the Killers teamed up with funnyman Jimmy Kimmel to create a new holiday song and character, “Joel, the Lump of Coal.” (See article on Billboard.)

Jimmy Fallon and Rashida Jones sang a medley of holiday-themed parodies of the year’s biggest songs. (See the YouTube video here.)

Actress Kristen Bell and a cappella group Straight No Chaser teamed up for a humorous modern holiday song called “Text Me Merry Christmas.” (See articles by the Huffington Post and Entertainment Weekly.)

Video blogger Dara Laine did a funny video parodying the holiday classic, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Her feminist version is called “Baby, It’s Consent Outside.” (See Huffington Post article.)

Actor Christopher Lee released his latest heavy metal Christmas single, “Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing.” (See articles in Entertainment Weekly and Geektyrant.)

Porn channel Television X in the U.K. released a song in a bid to become a Christmas No. 1 record. The song, called “Coming for Christmas,” was sung by a group of porn starlets. (See the music video on YouTube and article on Noisey.)
