The Northwestern University Wildcats football team today won their first bowl game since 1949. They had lost their last nine bowl games.
Northwestern’s nine consecutive bowl losses tied the record for the longest bowl losing streak in NCAA history, according to the Chicago Tribune. But the streak ended today.
Northwestern beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 34-20 in the 2013 Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla.
It was a big win for “Chicago’s Big Ten Team.”
Go Cats!
